High School Race Team
About High School Race team
The Sarasota Youth Sailing High School Sailing Program is for sailors in grades 8-12 who want to sharpen their sailing skills. Throughout the school year, participants in the program must attend weekly practices at SYS and participate in the SAISA HS competitions.
The SYS High School Program consists of six local high school teams with other sailors constituting partial teams. Each complete team has a parent coordinator to manage communication and logistics for regatta and practice attendance.
The following schools are currently involved in the program. Sarasota High, Manatee High, St. Stephen’s, Braden River, Pine View, and Riverview.
If you are a student attending a school with an existing sailing team and would like more information, contact SYS’s Executive Director. If you are a student at a school with a partial team (under 4 sailors) or would like to start a team at your school, contact SYS at sarasotayouthsailing@gmail.com or 941.504.4236 for more information.
